COALITION! is a game about the Napoleonic Wars (1805-1815) for two to six players, which can be completed in a single evening. The scope of the game is grand strategy with some operational elements (the execution of maneuvers such as the Marching to the Sound of the Guns), with the British player orchestrating successive Coalitions to destroy France and its empire. You will recall and reenact this spectacular period as you manage historical generals, armies, fleets, and event cards. Get ready to fight from Austerlitz to Waterloo in a single evening!
Although it is not a board game based on events in the classical sense, event cards are used to represent historical situations that could entail some modifications to the general rules of the game or even dramatically change the course of a game.
The British player will launch successive coalitions of allied countries to destroy the French Empire, and the French player will try to survive and win the game by earning Gloire and Victory Points or by forcing Great Britain to surrender via the Continental Blockade. Also, in the 3-6 player version, each player will control a Great Power with its own agenda, trying to win the game also through their own Victory Points and Gloire.
