The Bordeaux Expansion for Viticulture is an alternative board expansion that radically renews the experience of the popular wine-themed strategy board game. Designed for players seeking greater depth, better flow and more meaningful decisions, Viticulture Bordeaux offers a complete rework of the core mechanics.
The expansion introduces a starting boost for all players, four full seasons of worker placement and a wake-up chart full of benefits, eliminating the sense of stagnation in the early rounds. A central element is the new expert action, which allows the permanent upgrade of an action, offering strong strategic direction and uniqueness to each game.
The Bordeaux board also brings revised actions, trade market, as well as face-up vine and wine order cards, giving players more options and less reliance on luck. At the end of the game, grapes, wines and coins can be converted into victory points, adding another strategic axis to the endgame.
The expansion is compatible with most other Viticulture expansions, such as Tuscany (structures & special workers), Moor Visitors and Rhine Valley, while the board is double-sided: on one side the Bordeaux, on the other the base board, so that it permanently replaces the original without taking up extra space in the box.
