Purgatorio – Battles of the Guelphs and Ghibellines 1176-1325 is a unique board wargame from the well-known company GMT Games, belonging to the popular Men of Iron series. The game focuses on the bloody and politically charged battles between the Guelphs (supporters of the Pope) and the Ghibellines (supporters of the Holy Roman Empire) in medieval Italy.
Depicts historical battles from the 12th to the 14th century, such as the Battle of Legnano (1176), Montaperti (1260) and Campaldino (1289), in which Dante Alighieri also participated.
