It is a historical thematic board game where players assume the roles of different political factions — Jacobins (radicals), Girondins (moderates) or Feuillants (conservatives) — and fight for survival, power or influence within a turbulent Paris.
The 1793 Patriots & Traitors board game depicts the period from the fall of the monarchy (August 1792) to the Thermidorian Reaction in 1794. In this game, political strategy, diplomacy, and betrayal are essential tools. Players must cooperate to prevent the capture of Paris by the forces of Austria, Prussia and Sardinia-Piedmont, without forgetting their own political objective.
The multi-functional action cards allow intervention in the National Convention, at the Palais-Égalité and in the streets of Paris. Historical figures such as Robespierre, Marat and Desmoulins can be used for political gain… provided they are not assassinated or arrested first.
