Modern Art – Auction Board Game of Reiner Knizia
The Modern Art is the classic auction board game of Reiner Knizia, a strategy tabletop game where art turns into a market, players into art dealers, and each auction into a battle of estimation, bluffing, and profit. This specific Modern Art DiceTree Games Edition is a particularly rich version of the well-known game, with upgraded components and two different decks of artworks.
In the Modern Art board game, players buy and sell paintings from five artists. In each round, they choose works from their hand and put them up for auction. The real challenge lies in estimating the market: which artist will become popular, how much is a painting really worth, and how high should the bid go?;
The game uses different types of auctions and bidding, while combining auction, hand management, and commodity speculation. At the end of each round, the value of the artworks is determined by the popularity of the artists that appeared in the market. After four rounds, the winner is the art dealer who has collected the most money.
The DiceTree Games edition of Modern Art stands out for its production as well. It includes 94 metal coins, a wooden auction hammer with a base, a small wooden easel, player screens, and two decks of 70 cards: Modern Art and Renaissance Art.
The Modern Art of Reiner Knizia is an ideal choice for those looking for a classic economic strategy game, auction game, bidding game, and competitive board game, with high interaction among players and minimal reliance on luck.
Important: This specific edition is Korean. English rules/player aid are provided, while the game material is essentially language independent. DiceTree also officially provides the English rules in PDF.
