In Air Land & Sea (Revised Edition) , two players take part in a series of battles, with the aim of controlling two of the three theaters of war after both players have played all their battle cards, or of persuading your opponent to withdraw!
As the supreme commander of your country's military forces, you must deploy your forces carefully. And this across three possible theaters of war: air, land and sea. The order in which you play battle cards is critical, as is the way you play them. All cards can be played either face-up or face-down. If you play a card face-up, the card's Tactical Ability is activated, but the card must be played in the corresponding theater. Face-down cards are wildcards and can be played in any theater, but they have a strength of only 2 and do not provide tactical abilities.
At the start of each battle, you will be dealt a hand of six cards. You will not draw additional cards during the battle. So you must shape your strategy based only on these cards. Players take turns playing battle cards, one at a time, until all cards have been played or until a player decides to withdraw.
You don't have to continue a battle to the end. Sometimes it may be better to withdraw to deny your opponent a complete victory! In the air, on land and at sea, a strategic withdrawal may lose you the battle to ultimately win the war! Victory points are awarded at the end of each battle. And this is based on the results. The first player to reach 12 victory points wins the war!
