Alexander against Persia is a tactical game. It features the first three battles of the “By the Edge of the Sword Antiquity” series. They bring to the forefront the greatest conqueror of antiquity during the fierce encounters that allowed him to bring Persia to its knees.
Alexander against Persia places the players either in command of the Macedonian army or in command of the Persian army. In the Macedonian army the cavalry and the phalangites played complementary roles. The Persian army consists of extremely diverse troops gathered from across the empire. The three battles of (the battles of the Granicus, Issus and Gaugamela) were increasingly significant chronologically, in terms of the numbers involved and their complexity. Will you be able, as Alexander, to rout a multinational army through only three battles? Will you, in the role of the king of kings, manage to thwart Alexander's maneuvers and defeat the Macedonians?
