Imperial Miners
Imperial Miners is a light card game for 1 to 5 players by designer Tim Armstrong (Arcana Rising, Orbis), in which players dig mines using a smart card activation system. This standalone game is set in the popular Imperial Settlers universe and offers beautiful illustration, easy rules and satisfying gameplay full of chain reactions and synergies for engine-building.]
In Imperial Miners, players build their own mines by playing cards onto their personal board. They start at the surface and build downward. Each time a card is added to their mine, it activates itself and all cards above it, rewarding the player with satisfying chain reactions and combos. Cards belong to six different factions and offer various strategies. Players mix different factions in their mines to achieve the best results.
While developing their mines, players also advance on the progress boards. At setup, three of the six available progress boards are randomly selected for the game. These boards offer different strategic focuses. During the game, players advance to gain additional bonuses that help them develop their boards, trigger synergies between cards, score victory points, and achieve even more satisfying combinations. The combination of progress boards affects strategies and makes the game different each time you play.
Imperial Miners offers impressive replayability thanks to the wide variety of different cards and the modular progress boards. Players also act simultaneously, so the game is fast and does not last more than 45 minutes. The simple rules, the beautiful artwork and the rewarding engine-building mechanics make the game ideal for both casual and experienced players.
