Rick and Morty is an American animated science fiction comedy series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim late-night programming. The series follows the adventures of Rick Sanchez, a cynical mad scientist, and his kind-hearted but troubled grandson Morty Smith, who split their time between family life and the dimensional adventures that take place across an infinite number of realities, often traveling to other planets and dimensions through portals and with Rick's flying saucer. The general idea of Rick and Morty is based on two conflicting scenarios: the family drama within the family and a misanthropic grandfather who drags his grandson into adventures.
