Memoir ’44 – Strategy Board Game of World War II
Memoir ’44 is one of the most iconic strategy board games themed around World War II, designed by the award-winning creator Richard Borg and published by Days of Wonder. More than 20 years after its initial release, Memoir ’44 returns in a refreshed edition, maintaining its historical character while adding improved components, new scenarios, and redesigned miniatures.
In the Memoir ’44 Board Game, two players take command of the Allied and Axis Forces, reenacting some of the most famous battles of World War II, such as the D-Day at Omaha Beach, Pegasus Bridge, Operation Cobra, and the Battle of the Bulge. Each scenario is based on real historical events, with different battlefield layouts, unit positions, and special objectives.
The game includes over 20 historical scenarios, as well as a double-sided hexagonal board, suitable for both beach landings and battles in the countryside. Players use Command Cards and Tactic Cards to activate their units and leverage the unique capabilities of infantry, paratroopers, tanks, artillery, and resistance units.
The new edition of Memoir ’44 features redesigned miniatures, a new storage system with a plastic insert and army boxes, more scenarios, new cards, and additional tokens, significantly enhancing the gaming experience.
Memoir ’44 is an ideal choice for those who love historical board games, wargames, strategy games with miniatures, and thematic representations of historical conflicts. With easy-to-learn rules but great strategic depth, it is one of the top games in its category and an excellent choice for both new and experienced players.
