Dark Pact – Deck-Building Board Game
The Dark Pact is a dark deck-building card strategy game from Trick or Treat Studios, designed by Tom Lehmann, creator of Race for the Galaxy and Res Arcana. For 1–4 players, Dark Pact transports you to a supernatural world filled with occultists, spirits, demons, rituals, and cursed treasures.
In the Dark Pact board game, each player starts with their own deck and tries to create a powerful deck of Action, Treasure, and Multiplier cards. The main goal, however, differentiates Dark Pact from a typical deck builder: there are 13 different Dark Pacts, each with its own unique victory condition.
The Keeper Dark Pacts can remain in play until you fulfill their requirements, while the Instant Dark Pacts activate as actions and can lead directly to victory when you have the right combination of cards.
In each round, you play actions, draw new cards, acquire cards from the changing supply, exile unwanted cards, and gather treasures. The x2 and x3 multipliers offer particular strategic interest, as they can multiply the numerical values of an Action or Treasure, creating powerful combos.
The game includes 180 cards and offers play for 1–4 players, with a duration of about 30–90 minutes. It also features official solo rules, where one player faces a bot with different ways to achieve victory.
