A release from Diamond Select Toys! Form the Fellowship ! The new epic action figure line from The Lord of the Rings begins with the original odd couple, the dwarf Gimli and the elf Legolas! Each 7-inch scale figure features 16 points of articulation, detailed sculpting and a full set of accessories. Each figure is packaged in a color window box with a tag and each figure comes with a piece of Sauron. Collect the entire line to assemble the evil Sauron standing 33 cm tall! The sculpting was carried out at Gentle Giant Studios.
A few words about Gimli
Gimli is a fictional character of Middle-earth by J. R. R. Tolkien, who appears in The Lord of the Rings. He is a warrior dwarf, son of Glóin, a member of Thorin's company in Tolkien's earlier book The Hobbit. He represents the race of Dwarves as a member of the Fellowship of the Ring. As such, he is one of the primary characters of the story. During the adventure, Gimli aids the Ring-bearer Frodo Baggins, takes part in the War of the Ring and becomes a close friend of Legolas, overcoming an ancient hostility between Dwarves and Elves.
Scholars have noted that Gimli differs from other dwarves, as he is free from their characteristic greed for gold. They also note that he is unique in having been given the gift of Galadriel's hair, something she had refused to Fëanor. The events recall the Scandinavian myth Njáls saga, where a gift of hair is rejected, with fatal consequences.
