Under the Leaves – Strategy Board Game
Under the Leaves is a beautiful strategy board game and tile placement from Fractal Juegos, designed by Trevor Benjamin and Brett J. Gilbert, with colorful illustrations by Paulina Victoria. For 2–4 players, it invites you to create a vibrant garden full of plants, bees, hummingbirds, and tiny creatures hiding under the leaves.
In the Under the Leaves board game, your goal is to maintain the health and biodiversity of your garden by creating the right conditions to attract as many creatures as possible. Each round consists of two main phases: first, you place a garden tile, and then you check if the new configuration allows for the arrival of new residents.
The selection and proper placement of tiles is the heart of the game. You choose one of the available tiles and gradually expand your personal ecosystem, seeking the right combinations and connections. Bees, hummingbirds, and other small creatures can appear as the garden grows, rewarding clever design.
Under the Leaves combines Tile Placement, Connections, and Chaining mechanics, creating an accessible yet engaging spatial puzzle. The duration of a game is approximately 25–40 minutes, while the rules are aimed at players aged 8 and up.
With its charming theme of nature and ecosystem, Under the Leaves by Fractal Juegos is a particularly beautiful choice for those seeking a family board game, nature board game, tile placement game, puzzle board game, or a light strategy game for family and friends.
