Upgrade your existing version of SPQR Deluxe with the SPQR Deluxe 5th Edition Update Kit from GMT Games, a specially designed upgrade package for holders of the 2008 and 2018 editions of the classic historical wargame by Richard H. Berg and Mark Herman. The Update Kit allows players to utilize the existing maps and counters with the renewed material of the 5th edition.
The SPQR is part of the well-known series Great Battles of History (GBoH) from GMT Games and brings to the table the great military conflicts of antiquity, particularly the era of the Roman Republic. The upgrade kit is the most economical upgrade path for those who already own compatible SPQR Deluxe and do not need the entire content of the base game again.
The package includes a new Rulebook, three chronological Scenario Books — The Rise of Rome, The 2nd Punic War and Rome and the Successors — four Player Aid Cards, a Rout Point Tracking/Game Turn Card, and 60 counters.
The new material allows experienced players of the SPQR wargame to transition to the 5th Edition while retaining a large portion of the components they already possess. Therefore, it is a specialized historical wargame upgrade kit, ideal for fans of GMT Games, Great Battles of History, ancient warfare, Roman history, and hex-and-counter wargames.
Attention: it is not a standalone game. Additionally, for the Barbarian scenarios of the 5th edition, the maps and counters from the Barbarian module are required, which are not included in the Update Kit.
