Resafa
The game Resafa takes place during the 3rd century AD in the region of the present-day Middle East. Resafa is now in ruins in modern Syria, but at that time it was a fortified desert outpost that thrived as a station along important caravan routes.
In the game, players represent merchants traveling on business journeys and buy and sell goods in the various towns of the region. Resafa had no local water sources, so it depended heavily on large cisterns to collect its spring and winter rainwater to make the area habitable. Players build water cisterns and channels to distribute this water where needed. In the towns, they build workshops to help their businesses grow, which will allow them to gather resources and camels. They also build gardens between businesses, creating more resources and victory points.
The game is played over six rounds. In each round, a player takes only three actions, playing action cards in this exciting game.
