The bonfires are sources of light, energy, and warmth. They were created by the guardians of light to illuminate the cities of this planet, so deeply sunk in darkness. However, the inhabitants of the cities treat them as possessions and exploit them for personal gain. Disappointed, the guardians of light withdraw and let the fires go out. Unable to live in the already dark cities, the inhabitants are forced to leave.
Inthe game, you embody spirits that live near the cities and also need the light of such a fire. Since you now lack it, you try to visit the cities and learn how to relight the fires. You will have to visit the guardians of light on their sacred islands and ask them for quests in order to prove your good intentions. For every quest you complete, one more fire will be lit again. Whoever manages to earn the greatest trust of the guardians and illuminate the city the most will win the game.
