In Mosaic: A story of Civilization , you guide an ancient civilization from its founding. Your decisions will determine whether it will thrive and be remembered as the greatest civilization in history or whether it will falter and be lost in the sands of time.
Which leader will guide you? Which technologies and advantages will your civilization research? Where will you found your starting city? Will you focus on expansion or on productivity? Will you build towering wonders or trade networks? Will you found new cities and towns or recruit powerful armies to create an empire? Will your people praise you during a golden age or curse you for your oppressive taxes?
More details:
Mosaic: A Story of Civilization is a Civilization-Building game by Glenn Drover, designer, among others, of Age of Empires III: The Age of Discovery, Railways of the World, Sid Meier’s Civilization: Meier: The Boardgame, and Raccoon Tycoon.
Mosaic is an action-selection game. On your turn, you will perform one of the seven actions and gain materials.
Acquiring materials is important for creating your civilization's unique mosaic. They are used as prerequisites for many new technologies, as well as for scoring. Also, by pursuing specialization in one or more Culture Components, you may be able to claim a “Golden Age” of that type.
As the game progresses and your civilization grows, the scoring cards are eventually revealed from the four decks. Each time a scoring card is revealed, your civilization will earn points for each area you dominate with your cities and military units. After the third scoring card is revealed, there is one final round and the game ends. Then, you will score for your cities and towns, the wonders, projects and your Golden Ages, as well as for all your cards that score for the unique elements of your civilization.
