This expansion enriches the gameplay experience with new historical events focused on Great Britain and Ireland, adding greater depth and variety to the gameplay.
The Flavor Pack 1 Britannia expansion includes 9 new Event Cards, which affect the political, military, and historical developments in the British Isles. Of these, 5 are alternative events for England, while 4 are general events that affect England, Scotland, Ireland, and the smaller kingdoms of the region.
The new events can significantly change the flow of the game in Europa Universalis The Price of Power, creating alternative historical developments. For example, the event Union of the Crowns can lead to the union of Scotland and England or result in dramatic developments such as the assassination of James I if the Gunpowder Plot is not prevented. At the same time, New Model Army Revolts offers a new approach to the English Civil War, allowing the immediate rise of Oliver Cromwell as a leader.
The general events include historical events such as Tyrone’s Rebellion, which portrays the resistance of Irish Catholics against English rule, as well as the Jacobite Risings, which refer to the uprisings of 1719 and 1745 aimed at overthrowing the monarchs of the House of Hanover.
