Sankoré: The Pride of Mansa Musa is a eurogame , for 1 to 4 players, that transports you to the 14th century, into the heart of the Empire of Mali. As manager of the famed Sankoré University in Timbuktu, you will undertake to spread knowledge in four main academic fields: theology, law, mathematics and astronomy.
In each game of the Sankoré board game, you will recruit students, create curricula, teach classes and build your library, competing with the other players to see who will contribute most to the advancement of university knowledge. Once the university's construction is completed, the values of the sciences dramatically affect the final score.
The game also offers a standalone solo mode, against the Distinguished Scholar, a solo 'professor' with advanced artificial intelligence, ideal for high-level solo experiences.
Designed by Fabio Lopiano and Mandela Fernández-Grandon, and illustrated by Ian O’Toole, Sankoré offers a unique aesthetic, rich historical background and clever mechanisms that combine an educational theme, academic progress and deep strategy.
