Greetings, student beings! The cosmic school of the Technical Academy of Creation is pleased to welcome you to your Civolution, the final examination in Cultural Design!
For this occasion, we have prepared an anthropoid scenario on an isolated continent. Here, each of you holds the rank of a local deity closely tied to your own civilization and must lead it to success against the other civilizations. Your development options are endless and range from cultural and technological advancement to evolutionary adaptations. For example, what would you consider more beneficial for your tribes: the invention of the wheel or the development of wings? Demonstrate your ability to operate your civilization's console and show us how well you can adapt to volatile environmental conditions and to the mild creative chaos.
When the exams end after four seasons, whoever manages to collect the most success points will not only pass the exams but will become a full member of the Technical Academy of Creation and will gain the opportunity to be promoted to the next rank.
Civolution is a medium- to heavy-weight euro-style game that uses a dice-selection mechanism to activate actions in a structure resembling a tech tree. As you understand how best to use your dice and to play your unique cards, tons of strategies and paths to victory emerge, although each time you play you will explore only a fraction of the possibilities provided by the game's system and its many cards.
