The Vinyl: Masters of Metal (exp.) is an expansion for the bbasic game Vinyl and introduces the core collections and memorabilia. Historically, memorabilia (such as T-shirts and posters) were purchased for a favorite band. Memorabilia added value to the collector's collection. In Vinyl: Masters of Metal (exp.), players can acquire memorabilia and attach it to a collection. Memorabilia increase the value (or longevity) of the collection. To attach memorabilia, such as icons (decade, live, picture disc) they must be arranged so that the icons are adjacent between albums. The more albums and memorabilia, the larger the collection. Unlike the base game, the core collections require the player only to match bands and reward players for large dedicated collections. MoM is compatible with Top Shelf, the Publisher Expansion and the Clearance Bin.
For the 6 new bands (Blacksmith, Pistonhead, Iron Forge, Electric, Judean Ingot, Aluminum), included in this expansion are the following:
