Picanté – Spicy Trick-Taking Card Game
Picanté is a fast and clever trick-taking card game from Grail Games, where players try to win as many cards as possible — except for those of their own dangerous color! The Picanté board game, based on the classic card game Stick ’Em / Sticheln by Klaus Palesch, combines simple rules, strategy, hand management, and direct interaction among players.
At the beginning of each round, each player chooses a color as their personal Picanté. From that moment on, every card of that color they win turns into negative points equal to its value. In contrast, every card of any other color offers 1 positive point.
And here begins the spicy trap! Your opponents know which color you want to avoid and will try to load you with as many unwanted cards as possible. In fact, every card played that does not follow the original color acts as a trump, creating continuous twists and clever tactical choices.
At the end of the round, the score is calculated. The first player wins 2 peppers, while the second wins 1 pepper. The first to collect 3 peppers is declared the winner.
The Picanté card game is ideal for those who love trick-taking games, fast card games, and board games with intense interaction. The gameplay is essentially language independent, as the cards do not require reading text. This specific edition includes rules in English and French.
