If rock singers were judged on a scale from 1 to 10, Bon Scott turns the dial to 11. One of the most influential frontmen of all time, Bon Scott's high-voltage vocals and lifestyle in rock ‘n roll set the bar for a generation of aspiring musicians.
This fully articulated and highly detailed action figure is based on Bon Scott's appearance in the AC/DC music video “Highway to Hell” and stands 8 inches tall. It comes with a microphone and an alternate head. Packaged in a window box.
A Few Words About the Bon Scott
In 1974, Scott was working as a driver in Adelaide when he met Angus and Malcolm Young. The AC/DC singer at that time was Dave Evans, but the Young brothers decided not to keep him because he didn't fit the band's musical style. Scott, who was initially hired as the band's bus driver, told the brothers that he would like to become a drummer, but the band explained that they weren't looking for a drummer but for a singer.
Finally, Bon Scott replaced Dave Evans on vocals the same year. He gave his first performance with the band on 8 October 1974 at Rockdale at Kogarah High School’s Masonic Hall. AC/DC released the album High Voltage, their first LP in Australia, in 1975. After a few months, the band began recording the album TNT, which was released in Australia in December 1975. The song It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll) was Bon's opportunity to showcase his skills in playing the bagpipes- it would be the one and only song in which the instrument was used. In May 1976, a compilation of the first two albums was released in Europe and the United States under the title High Voltage.
That same year, the album Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was released in Australia and then in Europe in November 1976, but with a different track listing. The albums Let There Be Rock and Powerage followed, in 1977 and 1978 respectively- AC/DC were gaining more and more fans around the world.
In 1979 the album Highway to Hell was released, which catapulted the band to the top of the hard rock charts. It was AC/DC's first album to enter the US Top 100, reaching number 17.
