In the Knarr board game, each round invites you to carefully choose between two main actions: Recruit or Explore. With Recruit, you add a new Viking to your crew. The cards are organized by color, and placing a new member activates the benefits of the corresponding Vikings, creating clever combinations and an efficient tableau/engine building system. With Explore, you sacrifice members of your crew to discover new destinations and gain valuable bonuses.

Trade is another important part of the strategy. The areas you explore can offer new opportunities for trade, influence, reputation, and victory points, while every decision affects your path to victory.

The Knarr board game combines hand management, open drafting, set collection, and race mechanics into a sleek card-driven game with quick sessions of about 30 minutes. It is played by 2–4 players and has relatively low complexity, yet does not lack substantial strategic options.
