Frosthaven

Frosthaven is the story of a small outpost far north of the capital White Oak, an outpost that barely survives the harsh weather and the incursions of known and unknown forces. There, a band of mercenaries at the end of its road will help restore this settlement from the brink of ruin. Not only must they face the harsh elements of nature, but there are other, far more dangerous threats within the relentless cold. There are the Algox, the larger, more yeti-like cousins of the Inox, who attack from the mountains, the Lurkers that swarm the northern sea, and rumors of machines roaming the frozen wastes of their own accord. The band of mercenaries must confront all of these dangers, and perhaps in doing so make peace with these new races, so they can cooperate against even darker forces.

Frosthaven is a standalone adventure from the designer and publisher of Gloomhaven that includes sixteen new characters, three new races, more than twenty new enemies, over one hundred new items and a new campaign of 100 scenarios. Characters and items from Gloomhaven can be used in Frosthaven and vice versa.

Besides Gloomhaven's familiar combat mechanics, Frosthaven features many more out-of-combat activities, such as numerous mysteries to solve, a seasonal event system to experience, and player control over how this ravaged settlement expands, with each new building offering new ways to progress.

Frosthaven has an entirely new item set, but there is a mechanic to transfer items from «Gloomhaven». However, because it is a remote location, those goods are imported and are not there as standard. Resources are much more precious and you must create items through a crafting system rather than simply buying them.
