The terrible Black Death has overwhelmed the city of Bristol. You run through the streets with one of the three available apple carts, desperately trying to escape to the safety of the countryside. If your cart is the first to leave the city and is filled only with healthy villagers when you depart, you and your fellow travelers with the cart escape successfully and win the game!
However, some villagers in your cart may already have the plague! They hide their early symptoms from you so they can enjoy their last days in peace. If you leave the city with an infected villager in your cart, you will contract the plague. You must do whatever is necessary to make sure this does not happen!
On the surface, Bristol 1350 is partly cooperative , partly strategic and partly deduction. In reality, it's a selfish effort to get out of the city as quickly as possible without catching the plague, by any means.
