Blazon

The game Blazon lets you act as a herald, designing your own heraldic shield, acquiring elements, placing them on your shield board, and earning distinctions through careful choices.

Objective

Players earn prestige by placing element cards on their shield board. They can earn Prestige bonuses by winning distinctions for their shields. The player with the most prestige at the end of the game wins and is crowned King of Arms.

Playing Blazon

Blazon is played in successive rounds. On your turn, you must take either an Acquire action or a Blazon action.

If you perform the Acquire action, you may draw two Element cards either from the Tincture deck, the Device deck, or from one of the two. You may keep both of these cards or exchange one (or both) for cards from the open row.

Performing the Blazon action allows you to place Element cards from your hand onto your shield board. You choose which card to place, ensuring that you meet the corresponding requirement Device or Tincture on your Shield board. To place a card, you must discard any number of cards from your hand whose combined prestige value equals or exceeds the prestige value of the Element card you want to place on your Shield board.

End of the game

The end of the game is triggered immediately when any of the following occur:

– A player reaches or exceeds 50 Prestige on the Prestige track.

– A player fills every slot on their shield board.

– A player claims the last distinction award.
