Beer & Bread
Beer & Bread is a multi-use card game for two players. Its clever structure with alternating turns gives an exciting twist to player interaction and resource management. Two villages on the fertile grounds of a former monastery maintain the tradition of brewing beer and baking bread. While the villagers share fields and resources, they remain proud of their friendly rivalry in outproducing one another.
Each of you represents one of these villages. During six years – which alternate between fertile and barren – you must coordinate your tasks for harvesting and storing resources, producing beer and bread, selling them for coins, and upgrading your facilities.
However, to win, you must maintain the balance between your baked and liquid goods. Because, after the sixth year, you only score the coins you collected from the type of good – Beer & Bread – for which you earned fewer. The village with the highest score wins.
