The Lords of Middle-Earth expansion for the War of the Ring Second Edition adds new characters, figures, cards, and mechanisms that significantly enrich the gaming experience. Legendary personalities that until now appeared mainly through event cards now have their own detailed miniatures and unique rules.

The game adds beloved characters such as Elrond, Galadriel, Sméagol, Gothmog, and the mighty Balrog, along with alternative versions of Gandalf, the Witch-king, and the Mouth of Sauron. The new options create more strategies for the Free Peoples and the forces of the Shadow Army.

The expansion also includes new special Action Dice, such as the dice of the Elven Ring Keepers and the dice of the Lesser Minions, offering greater depth, more tactical options, and increased replayability in every game.

Additionally, the expansion includes new versions of all members of the Fellowship of the Ring, as well as additional miniatures for Aragorn and Gandalf the White.
