A few words about the movie:

The “Goonies” is a 1985 American adventure comedy film, directed and co-produced by Richard Donner, written by Chris Columbus, based on a story by Steven Spielberg. In the film, a group of children living in the “Goon Docks” neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon, try to save their homes from foreclosure and, in doing so, discover an old treasure map that leads them on an adventure to unearth the lost fortune of One-Eyed Willy, a legendary 17th-century pirate. During the adventure, they are pursued by a family of criminals who want the treasure for themselves. The film was produced by Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and was released theatrically by Warner Bros. on June 7, 1985 in the United States. The film grossed 125 million dollars worldwide on a 19 million dollar budget and has since become a cult film.
