When Sally (Marilyn Burns) hears that her grandfather's grave may have been vandalized, she and her paraplegic brother, Franklin (Paul A. Partain), set out with their friends to investigate. After a detour to their family's old farmhouse, they discover a group of crazy, murderous outcasts living next door. As the group is attacked one by one by the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen), who wears a mask of human skin, the survivors must do whatever they can to escape.
Leatherface is a character from the series ”The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. He first appeared in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) as the mentally disabled member of a family of disturbed cannibals, with face masks and a chainsaw. Leatherface was partly inspired by the crimes of murderer Ed Gein from Wisconsin, as well as by the confessions of serial killer Elmer Wayne Henley. The character has since been represented in various other media, including novels, video games, comics.
