The Far Seas – WWI Naval Wargame

The Far Seas is an asymmetric historical naval wargame that transports players to the early days of World War I and the operations of German cruisers in the oceans. Eight German cruisers are scattered around the world, cut off from home and facing the immense naval power of the Allies.

One player takes on the German raiders, using hidden movement, surprise raids, and careful planning to strike at commercial shipping, disrupt supply lines, and evade the enemy fleet. The opponent commands the Allied naval forces, protecting trade routes and organizing a global manhunt to locate and destroy the German cruisers.

The heart of the game lies in the mechanisms of hidden movement, search, and naval combat. The uncertainty of the opponent's position creates an intense «cat and mouse» experience, where information, deception, and the proper allocation of naval forces can prove more important than sheer military superiority.

Meanwhile, historical elements such as coal supply restrictions, convoy systems, colonial operations, and special events add strategic depth without overly burdening the flow of the game.

The new edition includes a full nine-round campaign, smaller training scenarios like Coronel and Falklands, Basic, Advanced, and Optional rules, as well as a special solo system. Thus, it can be played both competitively and by a single player.
