Powerwolf: 1589 is a dark, cooperative strategy board game that combines storytelling, occult action and a horror theme. The story takes place in the year 1589, when the northern Rhineland is overwhelmed by trials for heretics, witches and werewolves. The controversial Prior Erastinuz Wetzel and the ruthless heretic hunter Sebastian Rabenklaue, known as Devourer of Heretics, lead innocents into the fire.

Young Magdalena Roth is wrongly accused of lycanthropy and condemned to be burned alive. The Powerwolf, sons of the Legends of the Night, must save the girl before darkness falls. In this co-op board game, players cooperate to gather evidence of the Prior's fanaticism, sabotage the execution, mislead the hunter and convince the crowd of Magdalena's innocence.

Powerwolf: 1589 is played over 8 rounds (turns), before the hour of Vespers. Players must act cooperatively, stealthily and strategically, using tactics such as stealing parcels, extinguishing torches and deceiving enemies. Any mistake can betray the mission and lead the Powerwolf to the pyre.
