Chaos reigns at its estuary Douro, there is no space on the pier for more ships to dock. These days, ships from all over the world arrive at the river Douro to load the annual wine orders. However, phylloxera has destroyed the vineyards and this year's production is very small. The large companies do not have enough production to supply. The ships wait to load for days, if not weeks.
At Douro 1872, the players are winemakers who have wine stocks in their cellars. This of course will help the companies and the orders they have. For each boat full of barrels, the most generous producers will receive a reward. For each poorly filled boat, the less generous producers will receive a penalty. And it's not always good to trust the fog. It's all a matter of luck!
The winner is the player who at the end of the game has the most barrel points .
