POP Moments DLX: Metallica – Master of Puppets Tour 1986
Funko Pop figure inspired by the tour of the legendary album Master of Puppets in 1986.
Master of Puppets is Metallica’s third studio album and was released in 1986. It was the band’s first album to go gold, selling over 500,000 copies. By 1991 it had sold 4,578,000 copies, and today it has been certified six times platinum with over six million sales. This album includes some of the band’s biggest hits, such as Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Orion, and the title track Master of Puppets, which remains an essential part of every one of their concerts to this day. The themes of the lyrics touch on war (Disposable Heroes), drugs (Master of Puppets), and human emotions (Welcome Home (Sanitarium)). It is the band’s last album with bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a traffic accident on September 27, 1986, in Sweden during the album’s promotion.
