POP Moments DLX: KISS - Alive II (1978)
Alive II is the second live album by the American hard rock band Kiss, which was released on October 14, 1977 by Casablanca Records. The band had released three albums (Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over and Love Gun) since their previous live appearance, the Alive! of 1975, so they relied on the variety of the new tracks, with producer Eddie Kramer. The album is one of the band's best-selling albums, as it was the band's first to be certified double platinum in February 1996, the same month the Kiss reunion was announced, and it remained steady in sales in the US during the Soundscan era, selling over 300,000 copies from 1991 up to March 2012.
The album's title was a tribute to the live album Slade Alive! of 1972 by the English rock band Slade, a band that significantly influenced Kiss.
