Cad Bane was a notorious bounty hunter and mercenary of the galaxy, whose career lasted from the fall of the Galactic Republic, through the reign of the Galactic Empire and into the era of the New Republic. After the death of Jango Fett in the First Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY, Bane was regarded as the best and one of the most experienced bounty hunters of the era. Although his ill reputation grew during the Clone Wars, Bane held high standing both in the underworld and among other bounty hunters, collaborating with individuals such as Aurra Sing years before the outbreak of the war.
He even took a temporary contract for the Sith Lord Darth Maul. He specialized in combating Jedi and dueled some of the most capable Jedi during the Clone Wars, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. His reputation led him to be repeatedly hired by the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, working for’ him on many projects, among them infiltrating the Jedi Temple to steal a kyber memory crystal that contained a list of Force-sensitive children across the galaxy.
