Pop! Figure Rocks: Iron Maiden – Mummy Eddie #442
Eddie (also known as Eddie the Head) is the mascot of the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He is a permanent part of the band’s artwork, appearing on all of their album covers (as well as most of their singles) and merchandise, including T-shirts, posters, and action figures. Eddie also appears at all of the band’s concerts, as well as in the shooter video game Ed Hunter, the mobile game Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, and a pinball game of the same name released in 2018.
Originally, he was a papier-mâché mask used as part of Iron Maiden’s stage set. The band transferred the name “Eddie” from that mask to an illustration by Derek Riggs, which was used as the cover of the band’s first album. Although occasionally described in the press as a “zombie,” Eddie takes on different forms related to the themes of specific albums and world tours, and has appeared as a cyborg, Egyptian mummy, lobotomized lunatic, cloud, samurai warrior, and soldier.
