Lord Voldemort is a fictional character in the Harry Potter book series by J. K. Rowling and the greatest enemy of Harry Potter. Lord Voldemort made his first appearance in the first book of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Known also as Άντον Μόρβολ Χερτ, he appeared in all the books of the series except the third, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Voldemort also appeared in all the corresponding films, except the third.
The wizarding community fears him so much that they refuse to pronounce his name, calling him “You-Know-Who” or “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named”. Even his followers call him “the Dark Lord”. He is the one who killed his Muggle father, Tom Riddle Sr., at the age of 16, while his mother Merope Gaunt died giving birth to him. He is none other than the former Hogwarts student Tom Marvolo Riddle, the last descendant of Salazar Slytherin on his mother's side, while his father was a Muggle.
