In Energy Empire, you take on the role of a nation emerging from the ashes of war and attempting to dominate the nuclear age.
Players build their country's industry, trade, and government by acquiring resources, constructing buildings, and harnessing various energy sources – nuclear, oil, coal, solar and others. Progress, however, comes at a cost: the more a country industrializes, the greater the pollution and global environmental crises. Through the proper use of science, you can limit the negative consequences of development and avoid ecological disasters.
The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire Board Game combines worker placement, tableau building and resource management. In each round, you can either "work" by placing workers on the central board and activating your cards, or "produce" by rolling the special energy dice to refresh your production. Action spaces are not fully blocked, since you can use energy to take advantage of spaces already occupied by other players.
The retail edition includes all the contents of the new UN Envoys expansion and the Cold War expansion, allowing you to play a single experience on top of the base of the original game.
