In The Footsteps Of Darwin
Twenty years after his voyage around the world, Charles Darwin is writing the book «On the Origin of Species». He wants to gather new information about the lives of animals, especially for the continents he has hardly explored at all. Who else besides young naturalists, eager for discoveries, could help the famous scientist complete the writing of his most famous work?
In In the Footsteps of Darwin, the players are young naturalists who have just arrived on the Beagle to help Charles Darwin complete his book On the Origin of Species. During this voyage, you will study animals, conduct mapping surveys, publish your findings and develop theories. Starting with the naturalist who controls Darwin's token, the naturalists take turns clockwise, performing the following two steps in order:
Study an animal or be inspired by a character: Choose one of the three tiles opposite the Beagle and place it on your naturalist's notebook. It can be either an animal to study or a character from the Beagle's previous voyage that will inspire you. Gain the depicted bonuses or any additional scoring bonuses caused by placing the tile.
Beagle's Voyage: After you place a tile on your notebook, move the Eagle forward as many spaces as the distance between the Eagle and the tile you just selected (1-3 spaces) and then draw a new tile to replace the empty space on the travel board.
Your goal is to collect more points than your opponents to determine who contributed most to On the Origin of Species.
