In the game, players compete for control of the town of Deadwood. They hire characters, acquire properties, equip their people, and challenge opponents in dangerous shootouts. Each faction has different abilities and strategies, creating great variety in deck building and high replayability.
The great uniqueness of the Doomtown card game is the original poker-driven gameplay mechanism. Each card has a suit and value, so the construction of the deck affects not only which actions and characters you have available but also the odds of creating strong poker hands. Even shootouts are resolved through poker hands, combining strategy, deck construction, and calculated risk.
