CO2: Second Chance

In the game CO₂, each player is the CEO of an energy company responding to requests for new, green energy generation units. The goal is to stop pollution from rising while at the same time satisfying the growing demand for sustainable energy. And of course to profit from it. You will need plenty of know-how, money and resources to build these clean energy generation units. Energy summits will promote global awareness. They will also allow companies to share some of their know-how.

In CO₂, each region starts with a specific number of carbon dioxide emission permits (CEP) available to it. These CEPs are granted by the United Nations. They must, however, be spent whenever the region needs to install the energy infrastructure for a project. or even to build a fossil-fuel power plant. CEPs can be bought and sold on a market and their price fluctuates throughout’ the game. You should try to maintain control of the CEPs.

They all give you points : the money, the CEPs, the green power plants you have built. The UN goals you have completed, the company goals you have achieved, even the expertise you have acquired. These points represent your company's reputation.Having the best reputation is the goal of the game … apart from saving the planet, of course.

This new, fully redesigned edition of CO₂ features entirely new artwork. It has a completely new rulebook with many three-dimensional images for easy understanding of the rules, and more balanced gameplay. It also includes a new event deck, improved mechanisms and upgraded wooden components for the power plants. Finally, this edition features a cooperative game mode as well as a solo game based on objectives.
