”It started from a small trick I did on the guitar. I played it to Mal and he said ‘Oh, I have a good idea for a rhythm that will sit well as a backing.’ We started building the song from that. We played it for a few months before everything fell into place. Lyrically, the task remained of finding a good title … We thought of this thunder thing, based on our favorite childhood game ThunderStreak, and it seemed to have a good ring to it”.
