The I, Napoleon: The Limits of Glory is the official expansion (Expansion) for the successful I, Napoleon from GMT Games, enriching the historical solo board game with even more options, historical events, new characters, and strategic decisions. The expansion is aimed at those who already have the base game and wish to explore even deeper the journey of Napoleon Bonaparte through alternative historical scenarios.
The expansion adds dozens of new cards, additional political events, new allies, opponents, commanders, and historical figures that significantly increase the variety of each game. Among the new commanders, we find Louis-Gabriel Suchet, while new political allies, romantic ties, and dangerous opponents make Napoleon's rise even more challenging.
The expansion places greater emphasis on Political Points, as the Jacobins and Royalists create ongoing political turmoil that requires proper management. At the same time, the well-known Spanish Ulcer gains greater significance through new Expedition Cards, while the area of Portugal is utilized, adding new historical dilemmas and strategic choices.
The I, Napoleon: The Limits of Glory also introduces alternative historical campaigns that never took place. Napoleon may attempt the journey to Constantinople, launch a campaign in India, or even, after Waterloo, escape to America, where entirely new possibilities for the evolution of history open up.
