Movies : Lord Of The Rings – Mouth of Sauron (1578)

Sauron lived from the First Age of Middle-earth until the Third Age. He was one of the Maiar and specifically a Maia of the order of Aulë (one of the 7 Valar, something like the deities of Middle-earth).

Then he turned to Melkor, who was later renamed Morgoth (Valar, who however became the first “Dark Lord”) and became his most trusted follower. When Morgoth was imprisoned, he vanished, only to reappear among the Elves who named him Annatar (He Who Gives Gifts). He appeared fair and wise among them and convinced them to make rings of power. Once the rings were forged, he made the One Ring to rule them and put much of his power into it to make it so. But as soon as he put it on his finger the Elves perceived him. Sauron stole all the rings except the Three of the Elves, which Sauron never touched. He gave Seven to the Dwarves and Nine to Men, who thereafter became the Ringwraiths, or Nazgûl.

Thus, Sauron's ring was forged on Mount Doom, in Mordor, and it was the only place where it could be destroyed. In the Black Speech Sauron had inscribed on the ring a piece of the story of the rings, that part which referred to it. Sauron wore it constantly because it gave him power; however, in one of the greatest and most important wars of Middle-earth, the so-called War of the Last Alliance, where Elves and Men united to fight his forces, Sauron was defeated by Isildur, who by his brave act cut off Sauron's finger, on which he wore the One Ring. Isildur took the ring and kept it for himself, although Elrond, an elf, advised him to destroy the ring.

As J. R. R. Tolkien reports in his works, the ring had a will, which led to Isildur's death. Years later, his spirit reappeared in Dol Guldur, under the alias the Necromancer. Despite’ all this, his true identity was revealed, and so he left Dol Guldur and returned to Mordor. Eventually, Sauron fell with the destruction of the ring itself by a Hobbit, Frodo Baggins, who, although he too had been overcome by the ring, managed with the help of his gardener and friend Sam to destroy it.
