The 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago was an impressive international exposition. It showcased many great achievements in science, technology, culture and entertainment. In World’s Fair 1893 (New Edition), you can travel back in time and take on the role of the event's organizers. You will compete with other players to gain influence and acquire the greatest exhibits to be presented at the fair.
In each round of World’s Fair 1893 (New Edition), the active player sends a supporter to one of the five areas and collects all the cards in it. Then new cards are added to some of the areas and the next player takes their turn. The five areas represent exhibit sections, such as Fine Arts and Electricity. Cards may represent exhibit proposals in one of these five areas, influential people who provide supporter bonuses, or tickets for attractions and concessions along the Midway.
The game consists of three scoring rounds, each of which is triggered when the players collectively gather a certain number of Midway tickets. Players earn fame points for being first in the number of supporters in an area and for collecting the most tickets in each round. The leaders in an area also receive approval for the exhibit proposals they have collected that match the area. Players score fame points at the end of the game based on the range and variety of their approved exhibits.
