The Vallejo Plastic Putty 18ml – Modeling Putty is a water-soluble modeling paste for filling gaps, correcting imperfections and restoring surfaces on plastic models, miniatures and scale models. With code 70.400, it is a particularly useful auxiliary material for modelers who want a cleaner result before priming and final painting.
The Vallejo Plastic Putty can be used to fill gaps, joints, seams and imperfections that appear during the assembly of a model kit. It is suitable for vehicle models, figures and miniatures, while Vallejo states that it can also be used to create textures and small relief surfaces.
Its composition is water-based, which significantly facilitates application and processing. The putty can be smoothed with a wet brush and excess can be cleaned with water. Once dried, it achieves a hard, matte white finish and can be sanded to create a smooth surface before the next painting stages.
The Vallejo modeling putty 70.400 is useful in plastic model kits, military modeling, miniature painting, Gunpla, figures, dioramas and scale modeling, especially when two pieces of the model do not fit perfectly together.
It can also be used creatively for small conversions and shaping surfaces. Vallejo states that previous layers can be left for about 15 minutes before applying a new layer, while full curing is achieved in about 1–2 hours, depending on the application.
