The playmat includes the two maps Marsh and Gorge found in Root: The Homeland Expansion, offering two different battlefields and new strategic possibilities.
On the Gorge side, the unique geography creates natural chokepoints and concentrates much of the conflict in the central clearings. Proper placement on the map becomes even more significant, making area control, movement, and strategic planning crucial elements of every game.
The Marsh side follows a different philosophy. The size of the map can be adjusted during setup: you can play with the classic 12 clearings or expand the map to better support games with 5 or more players.
Made from neoprene, the Root Marsh/Gorge Playmat is a deluxe alternative gaming surface for fans of Root. It measures approximately 22 × 22 inches (55.9 × 55.9 cm) and combines two different maps into a single accessory.
