For a time, the tower lay in ruins. Unbeknownst to the inhabitants of the kingdom, a great evil was rising in its depths. It began with strange sights: a flock of crows flying in circles until they fell from the sky, the lake froze in the heart of summer. Over time, they could no longer deny what they feared most. The evil had not been defeated. Darkness would soon fall again. The tower would rise.
A “sequel” to the 1981 game for the Graal, Return to Dark Tower is a game for 1-4 players who take on the role of heroes. Together they collect resources, clear buildings, defeat monsters and undertake quests to strengthen their powers and determine which enemy awaits them in the end. When the heroes confront the tower, the game moves into its dramatic second act, where players have a chance to defeat the enemy once and for all.
Return to Dark Tower offers both cooperative and competitive modes of play. The game combines traditional game mechanics, such as engine building and resource management, with a technological interface unlike anything seen before in games, including the eponymous tower, which hides more than a few secrets.
